Red Building, 5850 Sunset Drive was designed to accomodate living quarters on the second floor and retail shops on the first. In the 1940's, son Jesse Red added another building section, which served as an automotive shop, extending the building along SW 58th Court. The Red building housed popular restaurants including the Waffle Shop in the 1960's, JJ's American Diner in the 1980's, and Irish Times in the early 2000's.
