$200M Live! Hotel to Supplement Maryland Casino

Baltimore—The Cordish Cos. has broken ground on a new $200 million, 350,000-square-foot flagship Live! Hotel at Maryland Live! Casino, in Hanover, Md., which is being built by the Philadelphia office of Tutor Perini’s subsidiary, Tutor Perini Building Corp.

It is the first hotel in the country to carry the Live! brand and will be the largest building in the county.

“The Live! Hotel brand fills a niche in the hotel market that is completely unaddressed,” David Cordish, The Cordish Cos. chairman, said in a prepared release. “We are providing customers with the best mix of gaming, entertainment, dining and retail with first-class overnight accommodations and superior customer service, which is a hallmark of the Live! brand.”

The property will feature a 17-story hotel tower with 310 guest rooms, an event center, meeting spaces, new dining options, and a day spa/salon. Guestrooms will be designed with a mix of modern style and chic, urban flare, along with public spaces showcasing floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings accented with striking chandeliers, and wood and polished marble throughout.

The Grand Event Center will house a 1,500-seat concert venue with built-in performance stage and banquet seating capability for up to 800 guests. New dining options include a 24-hour Café with community seating and a Gelato Bar offering expertly crafted espresso, coffee drinks, pastries and a variety of Italian specialty gelato.

Located within the Arundel Mills Commercial district next to Arundel Mills Mal, Maryland Live! attracts more than 14 million visitors per year. The combination of the hotel and casino will create one of the nation’s top grossing commercial casinos with luxury accommodations for guests seeking a world-class experience.

There will also be an on-site Luxury Day Spa & Salon, featuring high end products, a full menu of spa services, and a state-of-the art fitness center.

Live! Hotel is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
