NUMBERS IN THOUSANDS

The total number of employed people from November 2019 to November 2020 decreased by 5.5 percent (8,742,000 people), while the total number of unemployed people increased by 88.6 percent (4,823,000 people).

Year-over-year, the largest difference for employment was in the Service occupations with a decrease of 11.5 percent. The Office and Administrative Support occupations followed up with a drop of 10.4 percent, while the Installation, Maintenance and Repair occupations went down 8.9 percent.

For unemployment, the most significant difference was in the Installation, Maintenance and Repair occupations with an increase of 226.2 percent. Rounding out the top three were the Management, Business and Financial occupations going up 144.4 percent and the Transportation and Material Moving occupations reaching 136.8 percent.

The overall unemployment rate total increased 93.9 percent year-over-year.
