2022 REIT Returns

As of  Aug. 4, the publicly traded U.S. equity REITs in the Dow Jones equity all REIT index posted a -3.5 percent total return.

As of  Aug. 4, the publicly traded U.S. equity REITs in the Dow Jones equity all REIT index posted a -3.5 percent total return. S&P Dow Jones office and industrial real estate indexes posted one-year total returns of -20.5 percent and -5.4 percent, respectively.

Among the Office REITs, City Office REIT Inc. recorded the highest one-year total return of 6.2 percent. Whereas New York City REIT Inc. displayed the lowest total return of -70.1 percent.

Duke Realty Corp. topped all the industrial-focused REITs as the company posted the highest one-year total return of 24.3 percent. While, Industrial Logistics Properties Trust logged the lowest total return, at -62.8 percent.

As of March 3, the publicly traded U.S. equity REITs in the Dow Jones Equity All REIT Index posted a 26.2 percent total return. S&P Dow Jones office and industrial real estate indexes posted one-year total returns of 16.1 percent and 38.2 percent, respectively.

Among the Office REITs, City Office REIT Inc. recorded the highest one-year total return of 61 percent. Whereas, CIM Commercial Trust Corp. displayed the lowest total return of -34.9 percent.

Plymouth Industrial REIT Inc. topped all the industrial focused REITs as the company posted the highest one-year total return of 74.6 percent. While, Americold Realty Trust logged the lowest total return, at -16.6 percent.
