Richmond, Va.—Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of the 244-key, dual-branded Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond – Downtown.
Sitting in the heart of Richmond’s center at 700 E Main St., the double-property hotel has been developed and is owned by Shamin Hotels, with Gilian Clark serving as general manager for both establishments.
The strategic location puts the dual-branded Hilton within walking distance from the Greater Virginia Convention Center, Virginia State Capitol, Federal Courthouse, Richmond Coliseum, and the Virginia Commonwealth University campuses. Due to its central position, the hotel also offers easy access to a multitude of restaurants, retailers and entertainment options.
Overlooking the James River, the hotel boasts a panoramic view rooftop lounge, restaurant and event space. Other amenities include a grand ballroom for up to 225 people, 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, a 24-hour business center, laundry/valet service, complimentary hot breakfast, rooftop pool, a fitness center and a grocery shopping service. However, according to the Hilton website, the pool and fitness center will only open May 1, 2016. The property also offers separate lobbies for check-in and separate lodging/dining areas for the patrons of the two brands.
“This dual-branded Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites will continue our expanding footprint in downtown urban areas giving business and leisure travelers choices for their accommodation needs,” Phil Cordell, global head, focused service & Hampton brand management for Hilton Worldwide, said in a prepared statement.
