30-Story Apartment Tower Now Open in Tysons Corner

Northern Virginia is now home to a new 30-story luxury apartment tower. This month, Macerich opened the VITA Tysons Corner, the final piece of the company’s mixed-use urban expansion project in Tysons Corner.

The new apartment tower has 429 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, each one equipped with Italian cabinetry, quartz countertops or designed baths. The apartments range in size from 557 to 1,817 square feet. According to the community’s website, rents start at $1,975 per month for a studio and can go to more than $6,145 per month for a three-bedroom unit. According to Macerich, the VITA is already 25 percent pre-leased.

The VITA also includes a rooftop saltwater pool, an upscale restaurant, bicycle storage, a fitness center and an outdoor terrace. The community was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, and offers numerous green features, such as electric vehicle charging stations, Energy Star appliances and on-site recycling.

Donohoe Construction constructed the building. Kettler was the construction manager. Shalom Baranes Associates was the project’s architect, and Toronto-based Cecconi Simone designed the interiors.

VITA is the last piece of Macerich’s large-scale vertical densification of Tysons Corner. The apartment tower joins the 18-story, 300-room Hyatt Regency hotel, which opened in April, and the 22-story Tysons Tower, an award-winning trophy office building.
