J.D. Parker has been promoted to regional manager of Marcus & Millichap’s Manhattan and New Haven offices.
Parker will continue to run the Brooklyn office, which he has headed since April 2007, while the company seeks a replacement. He joined the firm in April 2004 and was named Rookie of the Year in the Manhattan office. In October 2005 he was promoted to associate status and then quickly to the management team in May 2006, taking over as sales manager of the Manhattan office. He has mentored several successful agents in the Manhattan and Brooklyn marketplace, according to the firm.
He replaces Edward Jordan, who will leave management for a return to brokerage as associate vice president of investments in the New Haven, Conn. office.
“J.D.’s success as the manager of our Brooklyn office and his achievements as an investment specialist make him an invaluable resource to our clients and agents in New York City and in Connecticut,” Marcus & Millichap president and chief executive officer Harvey Green said while announcing the news.
Parker received his bachelor’s degree in Operations and Information Systems Management from Penn State University.
Marcus & Millichap has more than 1,200 employees nationwide and closed 3,441 transactions in 2009. It was founded in 1971.
