Las Vegas–Wynn continues to expand its Las Vegas presence with the development of a new upscale retail complex. Known as Wynn Plaza, the project will expand the current offering of luxury retail space on the Las Vegas Strip.
Wynn Plaza will offer 75,518 square feet of upscale retail space, bringing the total retail square footage at Wynn and Encore to more than 173,500. The new facility will feature atriums, a skylight rotunda and natural light-using elements. Access to the property will be facilitated by two different entrances off the Las Vegas Strip. Wynn Las Vegas is aiming to debut the new retail project by the fall of 2017, and house retailers such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and Loro Piana.
The concept for Wynn Plaza is sourced from European elements and locales such as Avenue Matignon in Paris. Wynn Resorts chairman & CEO Steve Wynn was involved in the design of the project, along with Designer Roger Thomas, Wynn Design and Development and DeRuyter O. Butler. “We had 300 or more feet on the Strip right on the sidewalk in unused real estate that was very, very valuable,” Wynn noted as one of the drives behind the project.
