Gateway at UTC Adds to Tenant Roster

Hyattsville, Md.—Town Center Wine & Spirits is the most recent business to join the Gateway at University Town Center, a multi-tenant retail property developed by ECHO Realty and The Bernstein Cos. in Hyattsville.

The 54,000-square-foot Gateway at UTC is located at the intersection of East-West Highway and America Boulevard. The property is part of University Town Center, a mixed-used development that includes office buildings, condominiums, restaurants and student housing.

Launched in April this year, the 2-story retail center is anchored by Safeway and has already added MedStar Health, Unleashed by Petco and Phenix Salon Suites to its roster of tenants. Pollo Campero will follow their suit by the end of the year.

Town Center Wine & Spirits occupies 4,000 square feet of upscale retail space and offers a wide selection of craft beers, wines and discounted liquor.

“Finding a high quality purveyor of wine and spirits was very important to both this project and to Safeway,” said Nicole Zupan, director of leasing for Gateway at UTC, in prepared remarks. “Town Center Wine & Spirits provides that niche, while filling an important end-cap position that will connect Gateway at UTC with existing specialty shops and merchants located north along America Boulevard.”
