Tampa, Fla.—Greene, Canfield, De George Hotels, a Clearwater-based real estate brokerage firm, facilitated the sale of a 100-key Motel 6 in Tampa. Tony De George, president of GCD Hotels, represented both the seller, a seasoned hotel owner and a client of GCD Hotels for over 25 years, and the buyer, a Florida-based investment company, in the $5.6 million transaction.
Built in 1985, the Motel 6 is located at 9942 Adamo Drive. In close proximity to Interstate 75, the property is only 4.5 miles away from Florida State Fairgrounds and within a short drive from Busch Garden, Downtown Tampa, Cruise Terminal and the Amphitheater. Guests have access to on-site meeting facilities, a business center and a seasonal outdoor pool.
During the first half of 2016, the motel underwent a complete renovation, changing its flag from Days Inn to Motel 6.
