MiamiKimpton Hotels & Restaurants plans to expand in Florida with the construction of the Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach, set to debut in 2018. The new luxury boutique hotel will be situated in the heart of South Beach, along the Collins Canal on Alton Road.

“Miami continues to be one of the hottest tourist destinations in North America and has become an increasingly popular destination for international travelers as well,” Kimpton CEO Mike DeFrino, said in prepared remarks.

The five-story, 96-key asset will be owned and developed by The Finvarb Group, while Miami-based Kobi Karp was selected as the project’s architect. Upon completion, the hotel will feature a fitness center, canopy-inspired rooftop pool with a bar, as well as an adjacent restaurant overlooking the canal.

“Situated in one of the most walkable locations in all of Miami Beach and equidistant to both Lincoln Road and Sunset Harbour, guests of the hotel will not only be surrounded by world-class restaurants, shopping and other great amenities, but they will also enjoy state-of- the-art design, technology, comfort and the unparalleled service that our hotel and Kimpton team will offer,” added Ronny Finvarb, principal of The Finvarb Group.

The hotel will join the brand’s seven existing assets in Miami, South Beach, Palm Beach and Vero Beach.
