Beaufort, N.C.—Concord Hospitality Enterprises Co. recently announced its intention to begin the construction of a new hotel offering 100+ rooms in early 2017. A major branded flag will be announced next year. Live Oak Bank of Wilmington, N.C., will finance the project. The new building is slated to open in spring 2018.
The Boathouse at Front Street Village, a part boat storage facility, part yacht club, is located at 2400 Lennoxville Road, at about 150 yards from the Rachel Carson Reserve. Its developers plan to include more than 100 guest rooms in the new 97,000-square-foot hotel that will spread over three floors. Centered in an “L” shape around the existing pool on the property, the yet-to-be-named hotel is part of a larger project that includes a 100,000-square-foot convention center, on-site bistro with additional meeting space, suites and cottages. These new additions will add to current offerings that include a Boathouse marina, dry stack and wine shop.
“We are excited to have a hospitality company of Concord’s stature and reputation as part of this project. We expect the Front Street Village project to have a significant impact on the entire region in terms of driving visitation and creating jobs,” said Bucky Oliver, Front Street Village developer and co-owner, in prepared remarks.
“We have successfully developed many different hotel brands over the past three decades. We take special pride in unique projects like Front Street Village that we think are going to have such a significant impact on the communities in which they are located,” said Mark Laport, co-founder, president and CEO of Concord Hospitality. The Front Street Village site was previously a factory that employed hundreds until it closed down in 2015.
