BBG Appoints New CEO, Expands Board

Current President Chris Roach has been promoted to CEO, while Joel Leitner, managing director, has joined the board.

Dallas—BBG has named a new chief executive officer and expanded its board. Current President Chris Roach has been promoted to CEO. Former chairman & CEO and company founder Diane Butler has left the company but will remain a member of the board, according to the company’s release.  BBG has also announced that Joel Leitner, managing director of the firm’s New York office and an appraisal industry veteran, has joined the board.

Roach was a founding shareholder of BBG. Under his leadership, BBG has expanded its national footprint, adding offices in Orange County, Phoenix and San Diego, completing the acquisition of Commercial Valuation Consultants, a leading appraisal services firm in Denver, investing in additional resources to expand the firm’s assessment services capabilities and launching a new advisory services practice.

Prior to BBG, Roach was vice president – national client manager for LandAmerican Valuation Corp. He is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, National Multi-Housing Council  and Mortgage Bankers Association. Roach has also served as an expert witness in numerous states and has testified in multiple courts regarding real estate valuation matters.

Leitner is a veteran commercial real estate appraiser with more than 27 years of experience. Previously, he was the founder & CEO of Leitner Group Inc., a leading Tri-state area commercial real estate appraisal firm that was acquired by BBG in 2014. Leitner’s experience includes analyzing various real estate markets within the Tri-state area. He has also testified as an expert witness in multiple local and federal courts regarding real estate valuation matters and was recently appointed to the panel of neutral arbitrators by the American Arbitration Association.
