Prague—W Hotels Worldwide announced the opening of a W Prague by 2020. Owned by PPH Evropa s.r.o, W Prague marks the brand’s debut in the Czech Republic.
Located on Wenceslas Square, in the heart of the capital city, the hotel will be the renovation of the former Grand Europa Hotel, a radical art nouveau style property. The hotel’s historic structure will be combined with a modern new building. The two buildings will be fully connected to create the 154-key hotel, including the Extreme Wow Suites, the brand’s take on the traditional presidential suite.
W Prague will feature a rooftop bar and an outdoor terrace, W Living Room, the brand’s spin on the hotel lobby, several restaurants and 3,767 square feet of ultra-modern event space. The hotel will also offer an indoor wet pool deck, a fitness center and a spa.
“With W Hotels, we are confident we have selected a truly innovative hotel brand that best reflects our vision for this very special and unique development,” Nadine Gilles, managing director of Prague Prime Homes Management, said in a statement. “As we re-imagine this historic building and create a new architectural icon for the city, we are thrilled to join forces with a visionary brand that will elevate Prague’s global status even further.”
The new hotel marks the brand’s continued international expansion, with Starwood announcing plans for its first W hotel in Scotland in mid-2016.
