Toronto—Cushman & Wakefield recently completed the acquisition of Ashlar Urban Realty, a commercial real estate company focusing on downtown Toronto and representing more than 150 mid-market assets. Under the agreement, all Ashlar Urban Realty team members, including executives, will make the move to Cushman & Wakefield. Craig Smith and Jeff Thomas, both executive vice presidents, Senior Vice President Mike Scace and Vice President Fraser McKay will expand the Cushman & Wakefield’s platform in leasing, retail and investment sales.

“This is a great opportunity to bring two outstanding teams together, deepening our platform to benefit our clients with a rich pool of talent and services,” said Cushman & Wakefield CEO for Canada Chuck Scott, in a prepared statement.

Founded in 1999, Ashlar Urban Realty specializes in investment sales, office, retail and land development.

“Culturally our firms are a great fit. We share similar core values and are steadfast about a ‘client-first’ approach. I also know the career opportunities for our talented employees have been greatly expanded,” said Smith, also the former president & founder of Ashlar Urban Realty.
