Silvio Petriello, CBRE

After Michael Hines, it’s time for another leading CBRE figure to climb the ladder. Silvio Petriello was recently appointed vice chairman of advisory and transaction services. He is based in the company’s New York office. He will oversee financial, commercial and operational processes throughout the area, including acquisition, disposition, corporate capital markets, strategy development, portfolio optimization and benchmarking.

The newly vested vice chair has been with CBRE for 17 years now and brings a vast experience in the financial services sector, previously specializing in boutique financial services firms, investment banks, hedge funds and private equity firms. He joined the company in 2000 as an associate and he has been among CBRE’s top executives for years. As a member of the Colbert Coldwell Circle, Petriello was responsible for one-on-one mentoring and training sessions and was named Manhattan Mentor of the year in 2014. Prior to that, he served as a certified public accountant and real estate consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co.

A well-deserved distinction, the honor highlights Silvio’s abundant creativity and steadfast determination, and recognizes his many years of commitment to the firm and his clients,” Matthew Van Buren, CBRE Northeast Division president, said in prepared remarks. Some of Petriello’s notable recent transactions include a 130,000-square-foot lease on behalf of AlixPartners and a 90,000-square-foot, 15-year lease renewal at 600 Third Ave., where he represented L-3 Communications.
