JLL Strengthens SoCal Retail Practice with VP Hire
Dan Gill has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and will be based in the firm’s San Diego office. The move is part of the firm's plan to expand its retail platform.
JLL has hired Dan Gill as vice president to expand its Southern California retail practice. Gill is based in the firm’s San Diego office, where he will join Retail Brokerage Lead Craig Killman in representing retailers and landlords across the region.
Gill brings more than 25 years of experience in the retail real estate industry. Prior to JLL, he owned The Gill Group and has more than 175 transactions under his belt. Gill holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
The hiring of Gill is another step towards the expansion of the firm’s retail platform. In the past two years, JLL has grown its retail brokerage business across major markets, acquiring HMS Inc., Wilson Retail Group, Shelter Bay Retail Group, Martin Potts & Associates Inc. and Big Red Rooster.
Last year, the firm deepened its talent bench with the hire of Los Angeles retail experts Houman Mahboubi, Scott Kaplan and Erik Westedt. JLL has more than 130 retail brokerage experts spanning more than 30 major markets, representing more than 680 retail clients. JLL is currently handling the management, leasing and disposition of more than 710 centers totaling 83 million square feet.
