Prime Therapeutics Starts Construction of 400 KSF Facility

Prime Therapeutics LLC, a pharmacy benefit manager, broke ground on a 400,000-square-foot facility located in Eagan, Minn. It will be built in two phases, with the first one to be completed in late 2018 and the second in early 2020.

Located in an office park south of Interstate 494 and east of Dodd Road, the property will house Prime’s IT and operations teams. Situated adjacent to the new Minnesota Vikings corporate headquarters, the facility will be large enough to accommodate the company’s staff from four existing locations.

“This has been an exciting year of growth for Prime as we entered into a strategic alliance with Walgreens and landed some major clients that next year will add nearly 7 million lives to the 20 million people we already serve.” Jim DuCharme, Prime’S president & CEO, said in a prepared statement. “The timing is perfect for us to be consolidating our operations and IT teams as it will generate efficiencies and financial savings for our company and our clients for years to come.” 

Common amenities will include an open office environment with conference and meeting space options, an auditorium that can accommodate more than 300 people, a fitness center, an outdoor patio and a terrace.

“This 400,000-square-foot office building is one of the largest office projects currently being built in the Twin Cities area and is shaping up nicely,” Gordy Stofer, vice president of office development for project developer United Properties, said in prepared remarks.

Prime employs more than 3,600 employees, of which more than 2,000 are in Minnesota. The company will hold on to its Bloomington, Minn., office. Last month, developers United Properties and Principal Real Estate Investors sold an office property in suburban Denver to Capri EGM for an undisclosed amount.
