The multi-tenant data center campus operated by T5 in Chicago is receiving an upgrade. T5@Chicago is one of T5’s nine purpose-built facilities in the U.S., featuring concurrently maintainable and fault-tolerant infrastructure. The company recently finished construction of another facility, T5@Dallas, on its campus in Legacy Business Park in Plano, Texas.

T5 will add two more megawatts of available data center capacity to the 208,000-square-foot building. Citing regional demand, the company provides a scalable solution to its potential tenants, maintaining the possibility of further expansion on the adjacent four-acre land parcel. T5@Chicago has 10 megawatts available for lease, spanning 66,000 square feet of isolated data halls.

The demand from corporate enterprise seeking data center space in Chicago continues to grow in a market that has very limited supply. As vacancy rates hover around five percent, we are in a unique position to deliver a high-quality data center solution that will provide customers complete control of their infrastructure, as if it were their own mission critical environment,” said David Horowitz, vice president of sales and marketing at T5, in a prepared statement.

Future-proof facility

T5@Chicago is a Tier III data center built with the same standards as the company’s other facilities. It is located at 1441 W. Touhy Ave. in Chicago’s Elk Grove Village. It features 2N UPS redundancy and N+1 concurrently maintainable cooling. Security includes 24/7 on-site guards, a two-factor authentication and biometric access, CCTV monitoring and five security challenges prior to data hall entry. Additionally, the building is LEED Silver certified.

We originally chose this location because of the robust fiber network and resilient utility infrastructure in Elk Grove Village. Beyond the initial data center, our adjacent site can accommodate another 170,000-square-foot, 16mW facility to support future growth,” added Horowitz in prepared remarks.
