Skanska Names New President, CEO
Anders Danielsson will be taking over the position from Johan Karlström. Danielsson has been with Skanska since 1991, most recently serving as executive vice president in the company.
Skanska’s Board of Directors have appointed Anders Danielsson as the new president & CEO. Danielsson will be taking over the position from Johan Karlström starting on Jan. 1, 2018. Karlström will remain as a senior advisor until January 2019, when he retires.
Danielsson has been with Skanska since 1991, most recently serving as executive vice president responsible for Skanska’s construction units in the U.S. and Infrastructure Development. Before joining the senior executive team in 2013, he was president of Skanska Norway where he led two successful turnarounds of construction operations and residential development operations. Prior to that, he served as president for four years at Skanska Sweden.
“I am very happy that Anders Danielsson has agreed to take on the position as new CEO. He has a solid track record of almost 30 years at Skanska. Anders has worked in multiple countries and has successfully managed the business in both construction and development. He is very result-oriented and has a strong focus on profitability. He is also an appreciated value driven leader with a strong ethical compass,” said Hans Biörck, chairman of the Board of Directors for Skanska, in prepared remarks.
Skanska has been making several executive changes, most recently with the appointment of Robert Ward as president & CEO for Skanska USA Commercial Development.
