Regency Centers Corp. has acquired Roosevelt Square, a 150,000-square foot, multi-level neighborhood shopping center in Seattle.
Anchored by Whole Foods Market, the property is currently 100 percent leased. Other tenants include MattressFirm, Daiso, Starbucks, Dania and East West Bookshop.
“This is a great asset and fit for our continued expansion in the market,” said Craig Ramey, managing director for Regency Centers, in prepared remarks. “This adds to our urban platform that we continue to build with acquisition and development of best-in-class shopping centers. We want this place to continuously be a relevant and experiential draw for the neighboring communities, and the proximity to the University of Washington and active lifestyles will ensure that Roosevelt Square continues to be the favorite place for customers to meet friends, shop and dine.”
This acquisition marks the 11th Seattle property for Regency, which now owns 1.5 million square feet of community-serving retail. Other properties include Broadway Market, Grand Ridge Plaza, Klahanie Shopping Center and Sammamish Highlands. In December, Regency acquired an eight-acre site for the development of Indigo Square, a 51,000-square-foot retail project in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
