Compass Self Storage Continues GA Expansion
The Amsdell Group affiliate has purchased a 72,000-square-foot facility in McDonough, Ga. The asset marks the 12th Atlanta-area Compass Self Storage facility.

Compass Self Storage, an affiliate of Amsdell Group LLC, has extended its self-storage portfolio with the acquisition of a 72,000-square-foot facility in McDonough, Ga. McWhirter Realty Partners LLC worked on behalf of the buyer in the transaction. The facility marks the 12th Compass Self Storage location in the greater Atlanta market.
Completed in two phases in 2002 and 2006, the facility is located at 230 McDonough Parkway on five acres, 40 minutes from Atlanta via interstates 75 and 85. The asset features units of various sizes, ranging from 36 to 432 square feet. Additionally, the facility includes climate-controlled and drive-up units with wide aisles.
The buyer aims to upgrade the property, such as the security and individual access control, as well as to expand the building with additional drive-up units. Additional amenities include moving and packing supplies and truck rental options.

Compass Self Storage ended last year with the acquisition of a 58,000-square-foot self-storage facility in Snellville, Ga.
