Avison Young Welcomes New Principal, CFO

Christine Battist will be replacing Gary Hubbard and will oversee the firm’s finance and accounting organization.

Avison Young appointed Christine Battist principal & CFO, replacing Gary Hubbard. Based in the company’s Chicago office, she will be in charge of leading the firm’s finance and accounting organization. Additionally, Battist will also take part in the development and execution of long-term growth strategy and profit goals.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Battist, who has more than 25 years of financial management experience, served as CFO of Silver Bay Realty Trust, designing the firm’s finance department. Previously, she was the CFO of Two Harbors Investment Corp. During her career, Battist managed the financial aspects of corporations within and outside the real estate industry, coordinating company formation, investor relations, recapitalization and internal financial controls.

Battist holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis.

“Christine will manage the financing of our company’s growth and relationships with investors and financing sources, and be responsible for the financial aspects of corporate development decisions regarding acquisitions, divestitures and other related transactions,” Mark Rose, chair & CEO of Avison Young, said in a prepared statement.
