Concord Hospitality Enterprises, together with partners Madison Properties and Whitman Peterson, has broken ground on the 235-key, dual-branded Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn in Woburn, Mass. The hotel is the first Boston-area project for lead developer and property manager Concord.

Last December, Colliers arranged the $53 million joint venture equity financing for the construction of the hotel, to be located at 369 Washington St. The Homewood Suites will include 103 fully equipped suites with separate kitchens, as well as living and sleeping areas for long-term guests, while Hampton Inn will provide 132 rooms. Shared amenities will feature an indoor pool, exercise room and 602 square feet of meeting space.

The project is part of the $55 million, 11-acre Woburn Landing development, which includes the construction of new restaurants and businesses. Red Robin is already operating at the site, and the hotel is slated for completion in late 2019. Group One Partners is responsible for the design of the hotel, with Callahan Construction as the general contractor.

“Woburn Landing is a significant project, both in terms of the economic impact and the opportunities it will offer residents and visitors alike,” said Mark Laport, president & CEO of Concord Hospitality, in prepared remarks.
