Empire State Realty Trust is continuing its retail redevelopment strategy with the addition of restaurants Tacombi and Juice Press to the Empire State Building. This marks Tacombi’s fifth and largest taquiera, while Juice Press is set to open by late spring 2018.

Additional leases and store redevelopments along 33rd Street include Walgreens, Sushi-Teria, STATE Grill and Bar, Starbucks and Chop’t. Phase two on 34th Street is in progress, with multi-floor retail space available near the new Empire State Building Observatory entrance.

“For the first time since the Empire State Building opened in 1931, all of the retail space will undergo an entire gut rehab,” said Thomas Durels, executive vice president, Real Estate, at ESRT, in prepared remarks. “The opening of Tacombi and Juice Press completes the first phase of our redevelopment plan and 100 percent re-leasing of all the retail on 33rd Street, totaling 21,052 square feet at grade and 9,234 square feet on the second floor.”

Tacombi was represented by Alex Turboff of Branded Concept Development, Juice Press was represented by Adam Weinblatt of Newmark Knight Frank and landlord representation was provided by Fred Posniak and Shanae Ursini of ESRT, as well as Andrew Goldberg and Matt Chmielecki of CBRE.

Last month, ESRT signed two new leases at the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan, 12,800 square feet for RaySearch Americas Inc. and 11,600 square feet for BTS USA.
