Miami City Self Storage (MCSS) has opened a 77,500-square-foot facility in Miami. This marks the company’s sixth storage facility in South Florida, where MCSS aims to develop more than 1.5 million square feet of storage space. The newly opened property will be managed by CubeSmart.
Located at 409 NE 36th St., the asset is situated near the intersection of Interstate 195 and Biscayne Boulevard, a few blocks away from Wynwood and Miami’s Design District. The area is densely populated, with more than 200,000 people living within a three-mile radius, Yardi Matrix data shows. The seven-story facility occupies a half-acre site and comprises roughly 1,000 climate-controlled storage units.
“We were originally attracted to this site because of its proximity to Miami’s most up-and-coming neighborhoods,” said MCSS Partner Jay Massirman, in prepared remarks. “We purchased the site three years ago but are now looking very selectively in South Florida for additional projects.”
