BWI Airport Sheraton Hotel Changes Hands

LTD Hospitality Group has sold Sheraton Hotel Baltimore Washington Airport, a 203-key hotel near the Baltimore/Washington (BWI) airport, to Vista Group of Cos. Berkadia represented the seller in the transaction.

The property is located at 1100 Old Elkridge Landing Road in Linthicum Heights, Md., at the interchange of Interstate 195 and Road 295. BWI airport is a seven-minute ride from the site, while the BWI Airport Rail Station is also within easy reach. Downtown Baltimore is roughly nine miles away and Washington, D.C. is within a 50-minute drive of the hotel.

“BWI Airport has experienced record breaking passenger growth over the past three years. This trend, coupled with the incredibly strong fundamentals of airport hotels made this property an especially attractive opportunity,” said Managing Director Kyle Stevenson of Berkadia’s metro D.C. office, in prepared remarks.

The property offers complimentary BWI airport shuttle service. The newly renovated hotel includes common-area amenities such as:

• 24-hour fitness center
• heated indoor swimming pool
• restaurant
• lobby bar
• business center

“The seller made significant and smart enhancements to the property, marrying an upscale feel with the practical considerations that make airport hotels unique, creating strong value that the Vista Group has capitalized on,” added Stevenson.

Last month, LTD Hospitality Group opened a renovated Holiday Inn in Newport News, Va. The company purchased the 183-key asset in 2016.
