Montrose Commons, a 31,325-square-foot retail property located in Uptown Chicago, has changed hands in a 1031 transaction benefitting a west coast private investor. Mid-America Real Estate Corp.’s Principal Joe Girardi and Vice Presidents Carly Gallagher and Wes Koontz represented the seller, a local developer. The transaction comes one month after the company arranged a $32 million retail deal in McHenry, Ill.
The building is situated at 918 W. Montrose Ave. and has Ross Dress for Less as the anchor tenant. According to DNA Info, the retailer began construction at the site in spring 2016 and moved in a year later. The remaining space is leased to Verizon Wireless.
Across the street is a World Gym fitness center, a Jewel Osco store and The Montrose Apartments. There are several transportation options in the nearby area as well as a number of restaurants, businesses and residential properties.
