DataBank has completed its third Dallas-area data center, DFW3, in Plano, Texas. The company hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 145,000-square-foot facility with attendants including Plano Chamber of Commerce officials, business ambassadors and city officials.
DFW3 is a Tier III facility which features more than 72,000 square feet of raised floor space aimed at build-to-suit client deployments. The data center has 13.5 megawatts of critical IT capacity, designed with 2N, 4/3 and N+1 redundancies. Tenants will be able to tap into DataBank’s DBIX private fiber, which links all three Dallas facilities, and connects to several carrier hotels within the metro. In total, the carrier-neutral facility will have access to 16 carriers directly linked to the premises, and more than 100 carriers when connecting through the DBIX network. Utility feeds provide more than 40 megawatts of power to DataBank’s DFW3, with potential expansion up to 265,000 square feet.
The facility meets several industry compliance standards, including Uptime Institute’s Tier III certification. HIPAA HITECH, SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II, SSAE 18 and PCI DSS are also on the facility’s list of compliance accolades. Next Tier HD recently topped out on another DataBank data center in Atlanta’s Technology Square—the 100,000-square-foot Coda HPCC.
