Cushman & Wakefield Retained for Tampa Office Project
Plans for the 22-acre development call for 750,000 square feet of office and 240,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, in addition to apartments and a hotel.
The Bromley Cos. have selected Cushman & Wakefield to oversee office leasing at Midtown Tampa, an upcoming 1.8 million-square-foot, mixed-use project. Plans call for 750,000 square feet of Class A office space, 240,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, 400 multifamily units and a 225-key boutique hotel.
Site work started in June, with the demolition of a vacant structure. The first phase of construction, which includes a 10-story, 176,000-square-foot office building known as Midtown West, is anticipated to break ground in 2019 and deliver by the end of 2020. Bromley will begin two additional developments, named Midtown North and South, in a future phase.
The 22-acre site is positioned at the southeast corner of Interstate 275 and U.S. Highway 92 in the South Tampa submarket, 3 miles from downtown. Midtown West will mark the first speculative office development to kick off in Tampa in 10 years at a time when vacancy is tightening across the market. According to a Yardi Matrix report, the average vacancy for Class A product in South Tampa was 14.3 percent as of July.
Robin Bishop, who recently joined Cushman & Wakefield as a senior director, will work alongside Executive Director Andy May to head up the leasing team.
