Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) has secured the 37,800-square-foot lease for the new South College’s Atlanta campus, which will mark the school’s first campus in Georgia and the fourth in the Southeast. Highwoods Properties owns and manages the 98,000-square-foot property, of which South College occupies nearly 40 percent.
Located at 2500 Century Parkway NE, the asset houses a nursing, X-Ray, ultrasound, chemistry and a A&P laboratory, two simulation labs, assessment lab for private exams and four semi-private exam rooms, two large tiered lecture classrooms, computer lab, nine additional private exam rooms, four shared group/team rooms, shared student resource center and a study room for 14 individual study carousels. Additionally, the property will offer an outside courtyard space at the center of the building, where students can collaborate, share ideas and host different events.
“Accessibility was important for South College, and in addition to ample parking and multiple points of ingress and egress, this building is ideally located near institutions such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s new project at Druid Hills, which complements the school’s health care-based curriculum,” NKF’s Senior Managing Director Aaron Sommer, said in a prepared statement. “Our team also secured building top lighted signage, which is visible from Interstate 85, on the east and south sides of the building.”
South College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award doctoral, educational specialist, master’s, baccalaureate, and associate degrees. NKF’s Sommer and Managing Director Beau Odom represented the tenant. In another recent deal, the company worked on behalf of TH Real Estate to lease 258,344 square feet in a Class A office building located in Manhattan.
