The Abbey Group has selected JLL as the exclusive leasing advisor for the upcoming Exchange South End in Boston. Construction on the 1.6 million-square-foot commercial and life sciences research campus is set to begin in spring/summer 2019, with completion slated for the first half of 2021.

The four-building Exchange South End will rise on 5.6 acres at 540 Albany St., on the former Flower Exchange site. With this project, the developer aims to bring an influx of commercial and lab space to the market, at the same time providing a dynamic platform where innovation companies can interact with the community and culture in a green environment. Additionally, the project will encompass ground-floor retail, civic space and a one-acre public open space known as Albany Green.

The JLL Brokerage, Marketing and Research team comprises Managing Directors Bill Barrack and Matt Daniels, Executive Vice Presidents Ryan Enright and Ben Coffin, Senior Vice Presidents Dan Cavanaugh and Stephen Steinberg, and New England Research Director Julia Georgules.

The South End is a vibrant authentic neighborhood with an existing infrastructure of residential options, dining destinations, local retail, startup tech companies, creative agencies and power players in the life sciences including Boston Medical Center, Boston University’s Medical Campus and Bio Square,” The Abbey Group Managing Partner Audrey Epstein Reny said in a prepared statement.
