Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has signed a 25,523-square-foot lease at 1325 Remington Blvd. in Bolingbrook, Ill., with plans to open a training facility for its employees beginning January 2020. The building is part of Carlow Corporate Center, a 207-acre industrial park bordering Interstate 55, home to businesses such as Home Depot, General Motors and Goya Foods. The landlord is The Opus Group, which owns a number of industrial facilities in suburban Chicago, including a 424,000-square-foot development at 10 Falcon Court in Streamwood.

Jordan Decker and Chris Cobb with Cushman & Wakefield arranged the lease on behalf of the tenant, while Dominic DeRose, Vern Shultz and Charles Canale with Colliers International represented the landlord.

Opus completed the 112,000-square-foot building in November 2016. The development spans 9 acres and provides the tenant with flexible space options. Among the features offered are 28-foot clear height, three drive-in doors, 11 loading docks with room for expansion, modern lighting systems as well as an Early Suppression Fast Response fire sprinkler system.

Chicago will continue to be an industrial market to watch in 2020, according to Avison Young experts, despite concerns about the impact of tariffs on Chinese goods. The company’s latest industrial report highlights that the market is at 94 percent occupancy, the highest in the last decade, with most of the activity clustered in the I-55 Corridor, Lake County and US-64 Corridor submarkets.
