Hilton Brings Micro-Hotel Brand to Atlanta
The upcoming 146-key property will offer affordable, flexible suites as part of an $80 million mixed-use development.
Hilton has broken ground on one of its first Motto by Hilton hotels, a 146-key property in the Old Fourth Ward of Atlanta. Scheduled to open in 2021, the hotel will anchor the $80 million Waldo’s Old Fourth Ward mixed-use development led by Atlanta developer Lucror Resources and equity partner Sixty West.
Hospitality Ventures Management Group will operate the new hotel, which is one of seven properties Hilton has signed under the new “micro-hotel” brand that was launched in October 2018. The Motto by Hilton brand will offer smaller, affordable guestrooms with an average footprint of 163 square feet, modular furniture and the opportunity to link multiple connecting guestrooms.
The new development in Atlanta is being built at 40 Boulevard NE, just east of downtown. In addition to the hotel, the project will include 119,000 square feet of office space with heavy timber construction, 10,000 square feet of food and beverage offerings and a collection of townhomes on a 1.5-acre site.
The upcoming hotel in the historic neighborhood of Atlanta will join other Motto by Hilton locations in the works in Washington, D.C.; Indianapolis; Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York City; Savannah, Ga., as well as Miraflores in Limu, Peru. The seven properties in the U.S. and Peru will add 1,270 guestrooms to Hilton’s portfolio, which currently spans nearly 9,000 properties totaling more than 954,000 keys across 17 brands.
