GenH2 Plans 10-Acre Florida HQ Campus

The company will invest in a multi-phase renovation to accommodate its staff and future growth.

GenH2 has acquired a 10-acre campus for its new global headquarters in Titusville, Fla. The hydrogen infrastructure solutions provider will invest an additional $35 million in a multi-phase renovation and buildout program that will transform the property into a new home to accommodate more than 100 employees and company growth plans.

GenH2 worked in partnership with North Brevard Economic Development Zone and real estate services firm Rocket City Commercial in its search for a new home base, and ultimately settled on the 300-acre Exploration Park, which sits just outside the gates of the Kennedy Space Center in Central Florida’s high-tech corridor.

“Because of our tight timeline for growth, we needed a campus with buildings we could immediately move into while in the process of expanding the space. Those available properties of the scale that we needed are few and far between, so Rocket City Commercial was instrumental in bringing us options to look at, including the one we eventually chose for our new global headquarters,” Rusty DiNicola, COO of GenH2, told Commercial Property Executive.

At full buildout, GenH2’s new campus will encompass a state-of-the-art research lab, a light manufacturing center, offices, conference rooms, educational rooms and classrooms for training and community engagement, as well as an observation deck and walking trails.

“There will even be a visitor’s center [and gallery] where we hope to help teach the community about hydrogen, the hydrogen economy and more,” DiNicola noted. The first phase of the buildout will consist of buildings totaling 60,000 square feet. Upon completion, the headquarters will feature structures totaling 100,000 square feet.

Expansion mode

Presently, GenH2 has other facilities in Texas, New Mexico and various locations across the U.S., and there are more additions to come. With the hydrogen economy rapidly expanding, the technology company plans to enhance its payroll with the addition of 400 new employees over the next two years.

“We are looking at other locations, but nothing has been confirmed yet,” said DiNicola. GenH2 anticipates wrapping up Phase I of its global headquarters campus project in early 2022.
