Anchor Health Properties has broken ground on HonorHealth Medical Campus at Peoria, a 100,000-square-foot medical office center in Peoria, Ariz. Project partners include HonorHealth, a health-care provider in the Greater Phoenix area and SMIL, a physician-owned provider of imaging services.

The team behind the development comprises architecture firms DAVIS and ArchSol, the latter being a health care design-focused company, as well as Oakland Construction. Slated for completion in 2025, the three-story HonorHealth Medical Campus will offer a variety of services such as cancer care, primary care, physical therapy, breast surgery, gastroenterology, outpatient surgery and medical imaging.

The campus is taking shape on the east side of the Loop 101 on 83rd Avenue, between Thunderbird Road and Bell Road, some 20 miles from downtown Phoenix. Other medical providers in the surrounding area include Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Thunderbird Palus Medical Campus and Arrowhead Orchards Medical Center.

Earlier this year, Anchor Health Properties completed Western Reserve Health Center, a 53,000-square-foot medical office building in Hudson, Ohio. The project was valued at $20.2 million. Around that same time, the company also expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Forsyth Physicians Center, a 91,940-square-foot medical office building in Cumming, Ga.

As of November, Phoenix had 11 medical office buildings under construction, a total of 468,782 square feet and 37 in the planning and prospective stages, set to add approximately 4.3 million square feet to the existing inventory, CommercialEdge data shows.
