Clarendon County, S.C.—Adger Solar, an affiliate of Hudson Energy of New York, announced its plan to invest $200 million in two separate solar farm projects in Clarendon County, S.C.

“Adger Solar has been developing these projects for nearly two years, and we’re very excited to have the strong support of Clarendon County as we move into the next phase of development. These low-profile solar photovoltaic projects will complement the county’s strong agricultural base and will become important contributors of jobs, tax revenue and clean power to the local community,” Adger Solar Principal Bill Moore said in a prepared statement.

The first of the two 72-megawatt solar developments is slated for completion by the end of 2018 and together, the two facilities will generate enough electricity to power approximately 25,000 homes annually, including customers of the two major local utility providers.

“Adger Solar’s investment in Clarendon is a real reason to celebrate because it shows that South Carolina is a place where companies in every industry can thrive. This $200 million investment shows that Adger Solar is serious about its commitment to our state and our people, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come,” added Governor Nikki Haley.
