Montecito Medical Real Estate recently acquired a 85,000-square-foot, newly constructed DaVita Medical Group clinic in Albuquerque.
Sunport Healtchare Center is located at 2901 Transport St., SE, on approximately nine acres, in close proximity to the Albuquerque International Sunport and near Interstate 25. The two-story facility incorporates patient-centered design elements like soothing colors and music, also meeting WELL Building Standards intended to promote healthy lifestyles for occupants. Dekker/Perich/Sabatini designed the facility.
The asset features floor plans with high ceilings, non-glare windows that maximize daylight, a landscaped courtyard, a fitness area with locker rooms and showers, sit-stand desks in working spaces, a retail pharmacy and a café. Nearly 150 specialty providers work in the building, including dermatologists, neurologists, pediatricians, podiatrists, rheumatologists and radiologists. The property boasts a radiology department with state-of-the-art ultrasound, CT and MRI imaging equipment, a skin-care clinic and infusion therapy center.
DaVita Medical Group, formerly known as ABQ Health Partners, is one of the area’s largest multi-specialty medical groups and is a division of DaVita Inc., a leading U. S. provider of kidney-care services
“The innovative design of this new building incorporates DaVita’s ‘Trilogy of Care’ and our approach of ‘A Community First and A Company Second,‘” said Arthur Richey, senior director of development for DDP Team Genesis of DaVita Inc., in a prepared statement. “It fosters a positive relationship between doctors and their patients, which we believe is the key to great healthcare.”
Montecito Medical has acquired 30 medical office buildings since early 2015, accounting for more than $400 million and nearly 1.5 million square feet.
“This asset complements our growing portfolio perfectly and we look forward to working with DaVita on other opportunities as they continue to grow their services throughout the U.S.,” added Chip Conk, CEO of Montecito Medical.
