ALDI’s first distribution center with cross-docking services

ALDI tapped A M King to design, build and provide property consulting for the 564,000-square-foot facility. The building features 216,781 square feet of dry storage, cold storage at varying temperatures, inbound/outbound docks and 24,679 square feet of Class A office space.

A M King designed the facility with sustainability in mind, incorporating several efficient design elements. The building is thermally tight and features roof-mounted solar panels, LED lighting, an environmentally-friendly refrigeration system and metal panel insulation. The Loxley location is also the first ALDI distribution center to use cross-docking services.

Situated on a 150-acre site at 30800 County Road 49, north of Interstate 10, the property is 25 miles from the coastal city of Gulf Shores, Ala. The regional headquarters is also located between Mobile, Ala. and Pensacola, Fla.
