As cap rates in the traditional core markets of office, industrial, multi-family and retail continue to compress, investors are starting to seek yield by turning to non-core markets, among them student housing.

But the newly developed off-campus student communities are not the dorm-style rooms you might remember. Now they are resort-style properties with luxury amenities and high-end finishes.
