Avison Young Adds Ninth Board Member in Philadelphia
Carol Johnson holds several board positions at various organizations and brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry.
Avison Young has added a new member to its board of directors. Carol Johnson will be the company’s first independent director and the ninth member of the board. Additionally, she will also serve as a member of the compensation committee of the board.
Johnson has held several top positions in multiple corporate environments, with more than 25 years endowing her with a vast palette of experience in growth strategies, talent retention strategies, private equity transactions, compensation issues and risk management.
“Carol has extensive board experience, including as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and she has demonstrated excellence while serving in the C-suite and senior executive capacities with leading-edge companies,” said Mark Rose, chair & CEO of Avison Young, in a prepared statement.
Extensive track record
Prior to joining Avison Young, Carol Johnson most recently served as president & COO of AlliedBarton Security Services LLC. For more than two years, Johnson was responsible for implementing growth strategies for a $2 billion corporation, guiding the company through a sale and a merger. She also held several senior executive positions at The Gale Group, Norrell Services (now Spherion) and Kelly Services.
Johnson also holds several other board positions, at FTS International, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Merakey, as well as the Union League Club of Philadelphia. Additionally, she is a director of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Philadelphia Chapter, and is an NACD board governance fellow.

Johnson received an MBA in accounting from Loyola University of Chicago and holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration and merchandising from Northern Illinois University.
