Avison Young Expands San Diego Life Sciences Practice

Former U.S. Navy lieutenant joins Avison Young’s life sciences representation practice in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO—Brian Cooper has recently joined Avison Young in San Diego, bringing more than a decade worth of experience to the company’s life sciences tenant representation practice. As Principal of Avison Young, Cooper will focus his efforts on expanding the firm’s life sciences tenant representation practice and offer advisory services to life science companies in the San Diego region.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Cooper worked at JLL as senior vice president in the company’s life sciences practice in San Diego. Cooper also served in the U.S. Navy as navigator and commissioner, advancing to the rank of lieutenant, before joining the commercial real estate industry. His track record includes the execution of approximately four million square feet of lease and sale transactions valued in excess of $800 million, for clients such as GSK, British Petroleum, and LabCorp.

Brian Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in real estate finance degree from George Washington University. He is a member of San Diego-based organization Biocom and the San Diego Yacht Club.
