St. Louis—Commercial real estate services company Avison Young has recently announced the opening of its first Missouri office. Effective immediately, five members will join the new St. Louis location.

Avison’s first St. Louis office opens at 300 Hunter Ave., Suite 102 in the Clayton submarket, making it the company’s 53rd in the U.S. Over the past seven years, the firm has grown to 79 offices in 72 markets. Its staff has increased from 300 to 2,400 in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Europe during that interval.

Tim Convy, George Convy, Steve Stradal, Kevin Farrell and Gerard Mudd were tapped as principals of St. Louis operations. Tim Convy also becomes managing director of brokerage and will supervise the company’s growth and development in the region, along with George Convy and Stradal. Their responsibilities will include tenant representation and property management. Mudd and Farrell will run day-to-day operations along with transactions and marketing.

Tim Convy and George Convy, who have 37 and 45 years of commercial real estate experience, respectively, join Avison Young from CBRE. Stradal, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience, joins Avison Young from Balke Transwestern, where he was Vice-President of sales and leasing. Mudd and Farrell, who have 30 and 38 years of industry experience, respectively, join Avison Youngafter partnering at Farrell Mudd Development.

“The new St. Louis office will complement our burgeoning business in the heart of America, providing strategic advantages for our clients in other Midwest and U.S. markets while fostering more multi-market and cross-border transactions and business relationships,” said Mark Rose, chairman & CEO of Avison Young, in prepared remarks. In 2015, Commercial Property Executive named Rose one of the 13 most innovative executives worth watching.

Avison Young’s arrival in St. Louis marks the company’s continued rapid growth, with other recent announcements including eight new members joining its Mexico City office on Sept. 15, including principals Rafael Riveroll and Rene Maldonado, and five retail brokers being added to its Vancouver division, including principals Daniel Lee and Jason Schouten.
