Lublin will be replacing Sam Giarrusso who will be retiring in the new year.
New York—BankUnited has tapped Executive Vice President Scott Lublin to lead the New York commercial real estate lending business for the bank, effective January 1. Lublin will be replacing Sam Giarrusso who will be retiring in the new year.
“Sam and his team have done a remarkable job of building a first class real estate lending business in New York from scratch. He has assembled an extremely qualified staff of real estate lending professionals with Scott at the top of that list,” John Kanas, chairman, president & CEO of BankUnited, said in prepared remarks. “We owe Sam a great debt of gratitude and wish him the very best in retirement.”
Lublin started at BankUnited in 2013 as senior vice president and worked with Giarrusso at M&T Bank 20 years ago. Giarrusso will remain available to the BankUnited team on a consulting basis for the balance of 2017.
