Jones Lang LaSalle managing director Mindy Berman has been named leader of the firm’s healthcare practice within the Americas Capital Markets business. Berman will be responsible for client services when it comes to healthcare-related capital markets transactions, acting as a liaison to the recently expanded healthcare solutions practice.
Berman has been a managing director with JLL’s corporate capital markets practice for the last four years and in the last decade and a half has advised and arranged more than $3 billion in healthcare deals involving sale-leasebacks, developer build-to-suits and synthetic leases.
According to America’s Capital Markets president Jay Koster, Berman was appointed in order to harness the fast-growing sector of healthcare real estate, with growth in medical facilities expected to be significant in order to handle people who will now have health insurance.
The National Healthcare group offers program management, strategic consulting, financial strategy and transaction and sustainability advisory services.
Berman, whose experience lies heavily in partnering debt and equity investors with financing situations, earned her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and her Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
