Biggins Lacy Shapiro & Co., a specialty location advisory firm, has opened a new office at Treat Towers in Walnut Creek, Calif. The company leased space in the first building of the property, and Managing Director Andy Shapiro was selected to lead the new branch.

Located at 1255 Treat Blvd., the property is within walking distance to various hotels and restaurants, including Embassy Suited By Hilton, Yan’s China Bistro and Parada. Tenants at the first building of Treat Towers include Huawei Technologies, Poms & Associates and Ameriprise Financial. The 10-story, LEED-certified asset offers more than 550 parking spaces.

According to Yardi Matrix data, MetLife Real Estate Investment acquired Treat Towers from Equity Office Properties Trust in 2012 as part of a portfolio sale that included more than 375,000 square feet of office space. The property became subject in 2015 to an $80 million loan from Bank of America.

Shapiro joined BLS & Co. in 2001 and led the firm’s location advisory practice. Prior to this, he spent more than a decade with Deloitte & Touche and Moran, Stahl & Boyer, combined.

“Andy’s skills and experience, acquired during his thirty-year career as a management consultant, have made him the obvious choice to launch our West Coast practice group,” Jay Biggin, executive managing director of BLS & Co., said in a prepared statement.
