B&L Promotes John Brusa to President & CEO

New York—Barton & Loguidice DPC, a northeast regional engineering, planning, environmental and landscape architecture firm with nine offices across New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland, has announced new leaders. The recent transition in firm leadership is part of Barton & Loguidice’s long-term strategic plan.

John Brusa Jr. was elected president & CEO of Barton & Loguidice, replacing Nicholas Pinto, who retired at the end of 2016. Brusa, a resident of Solvay, N.Y., was elected following his years as leader of the firm’s Solid Waste Management Group. He has lead engineering teams on many permitting, design and construction projects throughout the eastern United States and he plans to stay engaged with the firm’s solid waste practice in his new role.

Additional directors include Richard Straut and Matthew Schooley. Straut, principal in charge of marketing and business development, has more than 30 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering and will continue his leadership role in delivering water and wastewater engineering services. He also leads the firm’s Albany, Newburgh and New Paltz, N.Y. offices and resides in Voorheesville, N.Y. Schooley is a newly appointed board member and a principal with the firm. He has more than 30 years of experience with the firm’s Transportation and Construction Services Groups, serving as the discipline leader for the last seven years.

“Our ownership transition approach has been in place since 2006. This plan has been very effective in transitioning our retiring owners and providing leadership opportunities for our long-term key employees,” Paul Czerwinski, principal with the firm who will serve as chairman of the board, said in prepared remarks.
