Denver—SendGrid, a Boulder-based delivery platform for customer communications recently announced that it will be moving its corporate base to 1801 California St. in downtown Denver.
The company currently employs 60 employees in its Boulder office and more than 150 employees spread across two separate downtown Denver locations. The move will consolidate SendGrid’s locations into one central office, with the move scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016. The firm also has offices in Redwood City and Orange, Calif.
“We’re proud to be a SaaS technology leader in Colorado and believe this move will play an important role in accelerating our growth and driving our long term success,” SendGrid CEO Sameer Dholakia said in a prepared statement. “By consolidating our Colorado presence in Denver, we will strengthen the connective tissue and alignment among our talented employees while optimizing employee productivity, engagement and collaboration.”
SendGrid’s new downtown Denver space nearly triples its current Colorado office footprint and can accommodate more than two times its current number of employees in the state. The company will continue maintaining a limited presence in Boulder, and will invest in a Wi-Fi-enabled shuttle service to connect that office to its corporate base in Denver.
“We are making a major investment in Denver as the hub for our corporate headquarters as it is the ideal market to fuel our ambitious growth plans for many years to come,” added SendGrid COO & CFO Yancey Spruill. “Our experience in Colorado to date has affirmed that we can attract, motivate and retain a robust talent pool, while aligning our employees around our 4H culture. We’re excited to invest to connect the talent pools in Denver and Boulder and bring these two communities together for the benefit of our customers.”
1801 California is the second-tallest building in Denver and the state of Colorado, completed in 1983 and rising 53 floors and 709 feet in height. The building is located just two blocks from the 16th Street Mall and the Denver Pavilions, and five blocks from the Colorado Convention Center.
