Callison, RTKL Become One

Two of the world's most influential design firms have joined forces to combine their mutual strengths.

Two of the world’s most influential design firms Callison and RTKL have joined forces and given birth to  CallisonRTKL.

The two companies’ combined strengths will allow the firm to better respond to market demands and client goals. Both Callison and RTKL were earlier acquired by the Netherlands-based Arcadis, a global design and consultancy for natural and build assets.

Together, CallisonRTKL now has a dominant place in the commercial and retails markets and ranks as number one retail design firm globally, according to Building Design+ Construction.

“With CallisonRTKL now combined under Arcadis, we are well on our way to redefining the global architecture, design and planning consultancy,” said Lance Josal FAIA, president & CEO of CallisonRTKL in a prepared statement. “But it’s not size that sets us apart, it’s the fresh thinking, bold ideas and new ways of solving problems that really make us a top player.”

Karl Stumpf AIA, LEED AP BD+C will continue to lead the firm’s workplace practice group. With a focus on corporate and public clients, workplace efforts will center on relationship growth with clients in a variety of sectors to help them create workplaces that align with their mission and business objectives.

The healthcare practice group, led by Brad Barker FAIA will continue designing facilities of the future that put emphasis on operational efficiency and systematic and quantitative ways to help facilities run at peak performance.

CallisonRTKL is comprised of more than 2,000 professionals wordlwide. Arcadis, which bought both firms in 2015, is made up of 28,000 employees in over 70 countries and generates more than$3.4 billion in revenues.
