Cambria Breaks Ground on SC Riverfront Hotel
The Cambria Charleston Riverview will feature 126 keys and 1,300 square feet of meeting space. Slated to open early in 2019, the hotel will be built by Freese Johnson Contractors.

Cambria Charleston Riverview Hotel breaks ground in Charleston, S.C.
Following Choice Hotels International’s portfolio expansion in South Boston earlier this year, the company, together with RREAF Holdings and New Castle Hotels & Resorts, broke ground on Cambria Charleston Riverview in Charleston, S.C. The 126-key project is slated for completion in early 2019 and will be built by Freese Johnson Contractors of Atlanta.
Located at 84 Ripley Point Drive on Ashley River, the Cambria Charleston Riverview is just minutes from Charleston’s Historic District. The hotel’s location provides quick access to the Medical University of South Carolina complex and the College of Charleston. The property will include 1,300 square feet of meeting space, a bar and fitness center.
“With Charleston being one of the fastest growing cities in the country, we’re excited to continue the Cambria brand’s rapid expansion in this key market. The Cambria Charleston Riverview will be one of three Cambria Hotels in the area, including Mount Pleasant, which also recently broke ground, and North Charleston,” said Michael Lusick, vice president of upscale operations at Choice Hotels, in prepared remarks.
